Cookies and localStorage are different
A cookie is a small value that a browser can send with requests to a website. localStorage is browser storage that page scripts can read on the same origin; it is not automatically included in ordinary page requests. Both can retain information between visits, so this page explains the storage used by the supplied puzzle code.
What this site stores
The site stores a preference only when you choose one of the controls below. The localStorage key is prg-cookie-preference, with the value all or essential. Its purpose is to remember your choice in this browser. It contains no name, email, puzzle answer, advertising identifier or browsing history.
The preference has no programmed expiry. It remains until replaced, cleared by you or removed by the browser. Private browsing, storage restrictions or a different device may prevent it from persisting. The puzzles work even when the browser refuses storage.

The supplied static website has no optional analytics or advertising scripts. “Accept All” records that choice but does not activate tracking. You can choose “Essential Only” without losing any puzzle features.

What is not stored by the puzzle code
Your typed guesses, hunt selections and solved status are not written to cookies or localStorage. The daily card calculates its choice from the local date each time it loads. The contact composer does not save a draft to site storage. Your browser may independently offer form restoration, clipboard history or download history; those features are controlled by your browser or operating system.
Hosting and future changes
The supplied HTML and JavaScript do not set HTTP cookies. A hosting or security service may have separate technical behaviour outside this page code. This notice does not invent a provider-specific cookie list or retention period. If additional non-essential technologies are introduced, the information and any required consent controls should be updated before those technologies operate.
Changing or clearing a choice
Use the controls above to replace the saved preference. To remove it entirely, clear this site's data through your browser's privacy or storage settings. Clearing site data may also remove values created by other services on the same origin. Browser settings can block cookies or local storage; this may affect other websites but should not prevent you from reading these puzzle explanations.
